How to Pray to Our Creator, Jehovah

In preparation for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Jesus taught us to pray in this way:

Luke 11:1-4

11 Now he was in a certain place praying, and when he stopped, one of his disciples said to him: “Lord, teach us how to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”

2 So he said to them: “Whenever you pray, say: ‘Father, let your name be sanctified.*+ Let your Kingdom come.+ 3 Give us each day our bread according to our daily needs.+ 4 And forgive us our sins,+ for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is in debt to us;+ and do not bring us into temptation.’”+

When you pray, you are putting an emphasis on your personal relationship with God and not religious traditions and institutions that might not be entirely authentic in their message and dogmas (because if the devil was successful in deleting the name of God, thousands of times within most recent translations of printed Bibles, he can change people’s motivations for editing the Word of God online, no problem.)

Understanding the Two Commandments

Yep! I think Jesus explained these clear enough. Thank you for reducing our memorization capacity to just two rules. As no one I interviewed in 2023 could get even close to remembering the original 10 from the Old Testament.

The Most Important Commandments, simplified for modern times, to encourage you that God is a forgiving one, are:

Matthew 22:34-40

34 After the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they came together in one group. 35 And one of them, versed in the Law, tested him by asking: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”+ 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah* your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul* and with your whole mind.’+ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’+ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”+

Regarding the 1st Commandment: We should not be kneeling down in front of statues made of any physical material. We should only praise Jehovah with the praise of the words that come out of our lips. And recognize the power He has to lighten our load and make our dreams possible for us when we put Him in charge of our actions.

When I was 18, my rebellious nature and (what I thought was wasted time during) routine Catholic mass on Sunday singing Responsorial Psalms about how I was to Praise God, didn’t make sense to me. (I had strict parents. And I wanted freedom. Well, most likely to pursue boys, I’ll be honest. But in the end, I honored them (like when I got married at the age of 26), as they kept me alive from my sins (1995-8) when I was too stubborn and disobedient.)

Notice in Luke 11:1 that Jesus was in a “certain place praying.” In Matthew 6:6-7 it reads:

6 But when you pray, go into your private room and, after shutting your door, pray to your Father who is in secret.+ Then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you. 7 When praying, do not say the same things over and over again as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words.

That’s because there are scientific videos explaining the science on how we are energy beings. So that to pray, we don’t always have to pray aloud, (and look like a psychotic lunatic when we are laughing aloud to ourselves from Jehovah’s jokes in our own heads—though that kind of restraint is very difficult for me, personally). We can feel God’s message coming in.

And when he tells us something funny, or something happens that is absolutely, coincidentally hilarious, we praise Him. Because He is having us witness his omnipresence and that we were truly created in His likeness, because His jokes are extremely funny to us.

Genesis 1:27

27 And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.+
